Welcome Full-Credit HESEAP Student

Dear Student,

Welcome to USILACS and to the start of your USILACS degree program.  We are all very proud and thankful that you have allowed USILACS the privilege of assisting you to earn your degree.

Being a full-credit HESEAP student, you will be able to progress quickly toward your degree by simply verifying your prior knowledge, training, and experience.  Since you have been awarded full CLC “Classroom learning credits”, you will not be required to physically attend class, submit classroom assignments, or to take periodic course quizzes. All that is necessary for you to do is to pass a comprehensive exam in each subject.

When you enrolled, you selected your degree program, your minor, and your electives.  Many courses have prerequisites; therefore, all the courses must be taken in a predefined order.  Your courses will be presented in three groups.  Group 1 is your core education and degree specific courses.  Group 2 will consist of your minor courses; lastly, Group 3 will consist of your electives.

Please allow us to provide you with some helpful tips:

  1. VERY IMPORTANT: Highlight and print out this pop-up. You will need to reference it from time to time.
  2. Courses:
    1. When you select a course from your List of Courses, directly under the course name, you will find a progress bar, and immediately under that, two tabs: [Course] and [Materials].
    2. Select the [Course] tab, and review in detail the course description, requirement, and other helpful information.
    3. Select the [Materials] tab, and carefully review all the materials included in the course. This is vital, as the exam questions will cover the materials listed here.
    4. Only after you have thoroughly reviewed all the information under the [Course] and [Materials] tab, and are completely comfortable with the course material, take the final exam.
      1. The final exam is timed, so prior to beginning the exam, make sure you have adequate Internet access and that you have 90-minutes to complete the exam.
      2. Once you start the exam you must complete it in one sitting.
      3. You may not pause the timer.
      4. Failure to complete the exam in 90 minutes will result in your failing the exam.
      5. To take the final exam, click on the exam link at the bottom of either the [Course] or [Materials] tab and complete the exam.
    5. Once you successfully pass the exam, you may proceed to the next course.
      1. A failed exam is any score under 66%. In the rare event that you failed the exam, whether a result of incorrect answers, loosing Internet, or exceeding the time limit, you must send an email to: academics@usilacs.org explaining what happened and request a re-examination.
      2. Re-examination requests take up to 48 hours to process and will result in a $45.00 retest fee.

It is our prayer that this information has been helpful to you, and that you have a very enjoyable experience as you progress through your degree program.

We are all cheering you on.  You can do this!

Sincerely,

USILACS Board of Regents
