*HESEAP™ Credit Evaluation Application

HESEAP should never be confused with traditional or online education. That is NOT what HESEAP is. The HESEAP program is NOT a degree program.  HESEAP is NOT an educational program.  HESEAP is NOT designed to educate.  HESEAP IS a “credit for prior education and experience program”. USILACS does NOT, and cannot, educate through the HESEAP program.  Students who do NOT have the adequate prior education and experience required to be awarded CLC or that cannot pass the final exam in a course do NOT qualify for HESEAP.  Students who do not qualify for HESEAP CLC must enroll in standard college courses.

USILACS uses the HESEAP Credit Evaluation Application to evaluate a student’s previous education, (including formal education, on-the-job training, CEC, etc.), previous or current experience (work, military, and volunteer), awards, etc. Based upon this information, eligible students can be awarded transfer or classroom learning credits (CLC). These awards can substantially reduce the student’s cost and time required to graduate.

Within the HESEAP Credit Evaluation Application, some applicants may find that there are some nontraditional or seemingly irrelevant questions on this application. Please understand that USILACS is an international school.  USILACS has students who live and have been raised in a wide variety of countries, cultures, and languages. All questions and requests must be fashioned to follow the laws of multiple nations.  Education methods and standards vary from country-to-country and school-to-school. USILACS’ HESEAP Credit Evaluation Application is designed to give the Committee the best, and most well-rounded, report on the student’s true and accurate background, education, and experience.  Their objective is to custom design an education experience just for you.

No individual answer or description provided will automatically qualify or disqualify an applicant. When applicants are asked to describe prior education, experience, awards, and other activities, these descriptions need to be as detailed and documented as possible. Transcripts, course catalogs, and syllabuses are very helpful as they relate to prior education.  Keep in mind that the committee is comparing these to what an average student would be expected to learn in a college course or courses on the subject.  Applicants need to supply sufficient details and documentation so as to allow the Committee to accurately evaluate the applicant’s personal knowledge and experience level when compared to a college course or courses on the subject.

The information we request on this application will help us understand past experiences, education, accomplishments, future plans, motivation, and goals in order to tailor a personalized and unique learning program, offering the student the greatest opportunity for success.

The HESEAP Credit Evaluation Application process is confidential. The contents of the application, including attachments, are accessible only by USILACS staff on a need-to-know basis and will not be shared with any outside parties.
